Fire!

Believe it or not last night it has been burning near our house, again! The whole damn thing started about a year ago when somebody set trees and bushes on fire. We called the police each time but nothing ever happened. Every fire was a bit closer to the houses than the last. The last two times the fences of two of our neighbours have been burning.
Tonight it was really frightening because it was SO close. Our neighbours on the right side woke up around midnight and because they heard a sound like falling raindrops they wanted to close their window. But than they saw the flames higher than the house (so about 7-8 m) right in front of their window . They called the fire brigade and started putting out the fire. For a better understanding: We are living in a terraced house and between the front yard of our neighbours on the right hand and our front yard is a high hedge which was burning. My father woke up, too, and after waking up my mother he helped our neighbours while my mother called the police. By the time the firemen came the fire was already out. So the firemen could drive back home again. The officers wrote down everything about last night and the other fires.
By the time I woke up the fire wasn't burning any more, but you could see pretty clear where it has been burning.
Now we, the neighbourhood, are thinking about installing video cameras. But to tell you the truth I don't think that it'll help much. The whole street and all the houses are already illuminated so I don't think he is afraid, not really. And he won't be afraid if there's a camera or he'll find another way to set things on fire without being seen. But maybe I'm wrong, I don't know ...
I only know that it was pretty close, far too close. I really hope that they'll catch the asshole, but he leaves no trace behind. So it'll be hard or impossible to find out who he or she is. Only if he makes a mistake we'll have a chance.
I'll tell you if something new in this case happened.
P.S.: The picture is the hedge after the fire.

University

OK, now two steps are already taken on my way to the university. The first on is that I registered for for a student hostel, but I won't get an apartment soon 'coz the waiting list is SO long that you have to wait for about 6 to 8 month. So I'm looking for a room in a group sharing flat. I already found one and made an appointment to visit them this Sunday at 11am in Göttingen. As soon as I know more about where I'm going to live I'll let you know.

The second step I took was to register at the university. That was on Wednesday. And now I only have to wait for an answer and than I'll be able to take the third step and send lots of informations (a curriculum vitae, my final report, my registration certification, a certification about my membership in the church and a passport photograph). The most difficult thing about all this stuff is the curriculum vitae 'coz it has to be in whole sentences and not only tabular and I have to write about my motivation as well.

When all this is done I have to make an appointment with o (future) prof of mine and another appointment with the woman from the church who is responsible for the students.

At last I'll have to by books, and some stuff form my apartment (or what ever it'll be) and all the other things I'll need when I move and start studying. So you see my "To-Do-List" is pretty long! lol

OK, c ya!!!
